Now yes these are burgers, yes they are meaty, and yes they are totally meat free but absolutely fantastic

I’m going to use tuna, and I would like to place a bet with you guys that these will convert the hardiest of meat eaters, in fact I’ve served these to someone who didn’t realise they were tuna! He thought they were steak!

SHOPPING LIST

800g of tuna steak

Bunch of mint

6 Spring onions

Good pinch of ground coriander

1 lemon, zested and juiced

2 red chilli (optional, but I love the kick!)

Good handful of peppery rocket

4 burger buns

METHOD

In a food processor, blitz together the tuna, mint, Spring onions, lemon zest, coriander and the chilli if using

Tip the mix into a bowl

Now with a wet hand shape into 4 burger patties

Allow them to chill in the fridge to help them firm and set

Now brush your tuna burgers with oil, and either cook in a hot pan, or if summer time, on the BBQ

Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, now remember you don’t have to cook these well done, tuna is fantastic when cooked pink

Warm your burger buns, divide the rocket between each bun, you can add a little tomato ketchup or tartare sauce if you like, place a tuna burger on each bun half and get stuck in!

I promise you that you will not be disappointed! These are my favourite burgers
